Busy Bee Because: I met ROBYN.
Last September, I finally, finally, saw my Dancehall Queen in the flesh! I call her songs my ‘emotional aerobics’ — they are so much fun to dance to, but listen deep into her lyrics and they will tug at your heartstrings. This one’s a concert that I have been waiting for. It’s her first solo concert in Asia, so I flew myself to Singapore. SHE IS AMAZEBALLS. And to our surprise, she took time for autograph signing after her concert! Oh me oh my, this has to be part of my top 3 best concert experiences of 2012. :)

Busy Bee Because: I met James Morrison.

So I am going to do several backlogged photo posts on why I’ve been preoccupied last month and this month — so many things happened!
My James Morrison experience was surreal. I’ve been a long-time fan, and I finally see him perform live, and then some. ;) A press conference, a meet and greet session, and a front row seat at his concert, and a setlist from the stage, care of his brother Larry. Did I mention I also got a hug and a kiss from the amazing musician?
Ahhh, You Give Me Something, you sexy man.

Music filled my week.

That is why I’ve been checking Tumblr and posting less… Attended press conferences for Nelly Furtado and Gym Class Heroes, they had a joint concert last Thursday night. Nelly is such a warm and charming woman (who apparently loves to eat our local puto, pansit, and lumpia). I was able to ask the band some questions, and that I had recorded (whew!). I’ve got a little crush on Eric Roberts (bassist). He had me at the mention of Steel Panther and that he owns a dog. Oh, and he’s good looking too (hello, young Stacee Jaxx!).

Fun concert! Even received a big, warm hug. :)

Let’s waste time chasing cars.
Another pause from posting my paws and claws (hey it’s rhyming!). I am a pretty lucky duck this week, as I got to meet another musician. Who knew that I would sit beside Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol at a round table interview during lunch time? And who would’ve thought that I’d end up bringing home a signed CD with me? Not only are these two the highlights of that afternoon. I got to ask him questions and I love how long his answers were. I’m heartbroken that the audio recording I have on my phone is corrupted (I cry, that was about 15 minutes of Garyspeak). Anyway, I wondered what the band’s frontman thought of fellow Irish bands/musicians that make it big — what makes them different, and click with the international market? I also asked him if he can recommend any bands from his hometown/country that are worth listening to (he mentioned Two Door Cinema Club, among others). Well, I’ll leave you with his answer to my first question.
Gary cocks his head on one side, and answers, ‘Maybe it’s the inherent sexiness…’ He gives me a crooked smile, and I melt. DAMN IRISH CHARM. If I could just rewind to that day will definitely agree with his answer and say yes… just say yes.
