![A Quick Tuna Fix.
I love me some tuna salad sandwich, and Country Style’s take on it never fails to please my palate. I’ve memorized how methodical the lady prepares my sandwich (perhaps she’s memorized how I paint my nails differently every visit). It’s like this: Toast the slices of wheat bread first; while waiting, prepare the lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and onions in one neat stack. Take the toasted breads, and spread both with a thin layer of margarine. Slather one bread with a scoop of tuna salad, spreading the layer of tuna thickly and evenly, then neatly place the veggies on top. I request for a little mustard, so she pipes in a yellow swirly pattern on top of the stack before closing it in with the other toasted bread, and slicing it in half. I always order my sandwiches there for takeaway, and eat it at the office. It’s a quick fix — a delicious one, at that. There will always be that one bite that will ooze out tuna spread on the other end; I gleefully scrape it with my finger, and lick.
